Traga Nexus Ltd

From African Earth to Global Vault

A four-stage, fully documented process — engineered for trust.

Mining
Stage 1

Mining

Artisanal & small-scale African sourcing

Our supply begins in licensed artisanal and small-scale mining (ASM) zones across the DRC, Kenya and Tanzania. We work exclusively with cooperatives that hold valid mining permits, allowing us to verify chain of custody from the very first gram extracted. Miners use traditional methods — sluicing, panning, hand-crushing — supplemented in some sites by semi-mechanised crushers and ball mills.

  • Licensed cooperative miners only
  • Site visits & documented chain of custody
  • Fair, transparent prices paid at source
  • No conflict-zone or unverifiable material
Refining
Stage 2

Refining

Removing impurities to lift purity

Once received at our processing facility, raw gold is cleaned and refined to remove base metals such as copper, iron and silver. We use chemical and pyrometallurgical methods consistent with international best practice. Refining raises typical purity from the 88–94% range of raw material into the 96–99%+ range required for export-grade dore.

  • Pyrometallurgical & chemical refining
  • Recovery of silver byproducts where present
  • Safe handling — no mercury-based amalgamation
Assaying
Stage 3

Assaying

Independent lab verification

Before any consignment leaves our facility, samples are sent to independent assay laboratories for verification. Fire assay remains the gold standard for fineness determination, complemented by XRF analysis for fast field checks. Every bar and pouch ships with an assay certificate that states verified weight and fineness in parts per thousand.

  • Fire assay (the international gold-standard test)
  • XRF cross-checks for rapid verification
  • Independent third-party laboratories
  • Assay certificates supplied with every order
Smelting
Stage 4

Smelting

Cast, stamped & ready for export

Verified gold is melted in an induction furnace and cast into dore bars of standard weights. Each bar is stamped with a unique serial number, our refiner mark, weight and fineness. Bars are then vacuum-sealed and packed alongside their export documentation for secure onward shipment.

  • Induction-furnace smelting
  • Serial-numbered, stamped dore bars
  • Vacuum-sealed packaging for shipment
  • Final QC inspection before dispatch
Lab verification
Quality Assurance

Verified. Twice.

Every consignment is tested at our facility and again by an independent laboratory before shipment. Buyers receive original assay certificates and may request additional independent verification at destination at their cost — we welcome it.
